Fall Senior Session… Oh Those Miller Boys…

Oh Those Miller Boys…

I first met The Miller Family about 4 years ago when the 3rd Miller Boy became BFF’s with my son.  Soon after I became great friends with Momma Miller!   Holli was a needed friendly face in a town that still seemed unfamiliar most days.   She posted one day online about her oldest looking for some side jobs, since then, Caleb has been the biggest help to us, Mowing, weed eating, packing and moving us, and sometimes not so much by occasionally driving the lawn mower over the hill lol.

Then there was Carter, the middle Miller Boy… Carter seemed to be the rambunctious Miller boy; Trey would come home from playing with Hayden scared of Carter, because like most big brothers do, he loved to scare his little brother and his friend when Trey was over, & most recently losing a chair of mine from the back of his truck and splintering it all over the road in the whole 1/2 mile drive to my house from theirs.

This morning when Caleb came over to do some yard work for us, I told him my plans of blogging Carter’s session and asked him for some stories or thoughts on his younger brother.  With a sheepish but proud smile he says “You know he has really grown up, he’s not that kid chasing the little ones around anymore.  When he like 8, I remember him drawing the most intricate house plans and drawing that I always thought he would become an architect because he is such a talented creative person. It’s nice now to see him putting his creativity and talent into fixing up his truck.  That truck and Savannah really make him happy”

This past Sunday was Carter’s Senior Session.  We set out walking & driving around to some different locations in Parkersburg with his mom, 2 sisters and his girlfriend.   I will say the most genuine handsome smiles are in the photos with his sweet girl friend & the ones with his truck!!   It was cute how excited he got to do photos with his truck!   Then the look of young love with he & Savannah.   I got to see a whole other side to Carter that day, a caring, funny, nice responsible young man, exactly like Caleb described this morning.  I am so glad I got to know him better those few hours so I can see the grown up Carter, not the rambunctious one from 4 years ago.  He’s a great young man.

The Millers are great parents, raising a great set of little loos, and I am thankful to call them friends.

I am still shooting sessions incase you need to schedule, my turn around time is just a bit longer on your photos.  I am just not taking the time to blog.   I promise to get back at it soon!

Macy is ONE!!!!

This Sweet Watermelon Lovin Girl turned one the end of June and last week we were able to capture some memories of this milestone birthday.

I first met Miss Macy’s momma Whitney a few years ago at a craft show.  Whitney is super crafty and creative with adorable ideas for her daughters sessions!  She sent me a message about a week or so prior to the session to see what I thought about a Watermelon Smash instead of a cake smash.  Ummm LOVE It!!!  What a great idea for a summer time birthday girl!

I began Macy’s session in the studio, a light pink back drop and white floor with pink and purple balloons and tissue paper pompoms set the first scene.

I mean really, I could eat this girl up!!  Look at those eyes and blonde hair!!  Such a sweetie and poser for the camera!

After the indoor photos we moved outdoors for some photos with her favorite purple bunny, a hot air ballon basket, and the most fun… the watermelon smash!!!!  This chickadee loves her some watermelon!!!  Once she saw it, she was done with everything else and wanted the food!!

A Maternity Session at the Lake

During the rainy month of May outdoor sessions were a challenge to get shot!  On this rainy Tuesday evening I was anxiously watching the weather hoping the approaching storm would miss us or allow us the time to get the session done.

I met Lewis, Caressa, and their Sweet Little Boy Isaiah at Rollins Lake in Evans and had such a great maternity session.  This family just glowed with joy over the anticipation of their little girl Avery.

We first shot by the lake, moved to a field near Millcreek, then to the fishing dock near the entrance.   It was important to Caressa that we get some shots with Isaiah as a family of 3 so I tried my best to keep the attention of a curious little boy who really only wanted to play at the lake and see what the geese were doing.  I think we got some great family shots as well as some shots of the expectant mother and couple.  Thankfully the rain held off until about 15 minutes after we were done so Isaiah could get some play time in on the dock after his hardwork.

I can’t wait to meet Baby Avery next week at her newborn session!

The Boyce Family

A few weeks ago I had the honor of going to The Boyce Family Farm to capture some memories for them in the form of photos!  I love on location sessions because they let me capture my clients in their own environment and most of all in a place that is special to them!

I have known Jess for a few years and have shot a couple of mini sessions of her adorable boys in the past but this was a first of shooting the entire family.  I truly think Jessica is Wonder Woman disguised as a momma!  She has 4 very busy, but very sweet, little boys, a farm with lots of animals, a foster child and a husband who works crazy hours!  And she manages to keep it all together plus homeschools her littles!

We shot their session in what used to be their cow pasture where some pretty white daisies were growing!

Check out some of my favorites from this family farm session!

Miss Paisley Grace

A few weeks ago I received an inquiry for a newborn session on a week that I had very limited availability.  We were getting ready to leave for summer camp with my kids and vacation.  I had already told myself not to book anymore sessions because there just wouldn’t be enough time to get everything done, but I always will schedule newborns when possible because they are truly my favorite!  I am so glad I squeezed Miss Paisley Grace in for a session because she rocked it!

Paisley was a great little one who was 14 days new and slept for most of her session minus a few diaper changes.

Before my newborns arrive I try to lay out my outfits, fabric drops, props, etc so that I am ready to go and make the session move along as smoothly as possible.  I had set out an old wooden bucket/planter that I bought a few months prior and tied a belly sash to it.  I have been wanting to use this for a few sessions but haven’t had a baby sleepy enough to do so!   Paisley has no idea how excited I was that I finally got to put it into use!

Here are a few more of my favorites from her session!  Check out those proud new parents!!!  I love seeing how my clients interact with their babies, esp the ones when it’s their first baby.  It’s just so precious and cute!!

Ellie’s New Family…

Miller 5 WM

“I Was Chosen, I Was Wanted, I Grew in Their Hearts, I was the Missing Piece, I was Loved, I AM ADOPTED”

This is New Miss Ellicyn Ruth Miller!!!

Today this sweet girl is officially part of the wonderful Miller family with whom she has been fostered with the last couple of years.  She has no idea how lucky she is to have been chosen by this family.

Tracy is one of the most caring Dad’s I have met!  He is truly smitten with each of his children.  Holli, well I could go on and on about her for days!  Not only is she one of my very great friends, she is an amazing Mother!!  I have no idea how she keeps it all together, track of everyone and manage to have the most stylishly decorated house and perfect hair and makeup each day.

Tracy and Holli give themselves selfishly to not only their own children, but to children in need of a safe, warm, loving home.   They also are fostering another child too!   Miss Ellie’s new life is going to be magical and she is going to have opportunities, because of the Millers, that she wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Ellie has a Dad & Mom now, a big sister to teach her all the girly things, and 3 Big Brothers to protect her!!  Plus lots of puppy dogs at home too!   Her life will be grand and I pray that someday she realizes what The Miller’s have given her.

Tatum Olivia is 6 Months!!!

As a photographer each session is special and unique to me so I have been struggling on which to blog about first.  I knew I needed to incorporate sessions into my blog soon but which one to start with and then it just hit me… “I need to blog on Wednesday,  I just shot Tatum’s 6 Month Session Saturday, She is 6 Months ON Wednesday”

So I introduce you to my sweet client Tatum!  And her family!

One day last August I received a Facebook message from Stefani stating she had been referred to me from a friend of hers and she wanted to book me for the birth of her little girl in October!  I was so excited, both because I LOVE when I get new clients from client referrals, and I love shooting Births and Fresh 48 Sessions!!!    We scheduled a consult to go over details and most important, meet in person!  I felt like I had known them forever, Stefani knew exactly what she wanted that day from their time with me.  As a mother of 2, I totally got it and knew that I could capture Tatum’s first minutes & hours of life for her so she could cherish them always.

We knew Stefani was going in for a scheduled C-Section and more than likely I would not be allowed in the Operating room but we tried up until the min they wheeled her away to convince someone to let me in!  It didn’t work, but she did have a sweet nurse who let me wait right by the elevator so I could start clicking away when Todd would bring his new daughter back to the nursery to get prepared to meet her new family.

While they took Stefani down to get prepped the nurse showed Todd and I to what would be her hospital room to put their things away and she would come get us when they were ready.  We waited for what seemed like days!!!   Poor Todd, this was his first child so he was  of course a little anxious, after about 45 minutes of awkward silence/small talk (I had only chatted with him 5 min or so before the big day; ladies you know you are in charge of all this lol so I had only really dealt with Stefani)  he says so serious “You don’t think they started without me, do you?”  Just a few minutes later it was game time!  And then just a short time later here he comes off the elevator with the biggest proudest smile on his face pushing his sweet baby girl!  Tatum 54

While Stefani was in recovery I captured the first bottle, bath, weighing, foot prints, etc so she could see her new daughters first moments!   The family that was excitedly awaiting the arrival from the waiting room was allowed back a short time after and that was when some of my favorite moments of the day really began!  Jake meeting his new baby sister!!!

You see, I have a son and a daughter just like Stefani.  My son is 4 years and 2 Months older than my daughter.  When we had our ultrasound to determine her sex he pouted in a a corner that he wanted a brother not a sister and the told the tech she needed to look again.  lol that’s all history!  My son LOVES his sister more than anything!  They have such a precious relationship and I am so glad they have each other.

Jake was the PROUDEST and Happiest little boy ever when he got to see his sister!!  I always try hold all of my emotions during shoots but sometimes moments tug at my heart strings,  & I did shed a couple tears because I knew in that moment Jake was going to be so good to Tatum just like my Trey is to Alee.

Tatum 84

That is Jake & Tatum’s Pa giving his thumbs up to Todd after seeing his new granddaughter, but seriously look at that Smile and Sparkle on Big Brother Jake’s face!!!!  Preciousness!!!

Not only did I get to capture all of these memories for Stefani and Todd, but I have captured these sweet kids at Tatum’s Newborn, Easter, & 6 Month Sessions.  Here are some of my favorite shots from that day and Tatum’s 1st 6 Months of life!

Happy 6 Months Tatum!!

Stefani & Todd, thank you for letting me capture these precious moments for your family!
